Mariah Carey Celebrates 20 Years of 'The Emancipation of Mimi' with Deluxe Reissue and New Music

Mariah Carey is honoring the 20th anniversary of her landmark 2005 album, The Emancipation of Mimi, with a comprehensive deluxe reissue set to release on May 30, 2025. This special edition includes a 5xLP vinyl box set featuring the original album, the Ultra Platinum Edition, and a collection of remixes by artists such as Kaytranada and Esentrik. Notably, it also offers previously unreleased tracks, including the long-anticipated "When I Feel It," which was initially shelved due to sample clearance issues.

The box set is accompanied by a 28-page booklet containing rare photos and a personal letter from Carey to her fans. In addition to the vinyl release, a deluxe 2xLP vinyl set and a digital deluxe edition with exclusive tracks will be available.

Reflecting on the album's significance, Carey expressed that revisiting The Emancipation of Mimi allowed her to relive pivotal moments in her personal and professional life. She emphasized the album's role in revitalizing her career and connecting with a new generation of fans.

The reissue not only celebrates the past but also hints at future projects. Carey has confirmed she's working on new music, marking her first original material since 2018's Caution. Additionally, she has entertained the idea of releasing her unreleased '90s grunge album and collaborating with artists like Rihanna.

This anniversary edition stands as a testament to Carey's enduring legacy and her continuous evolution as an artist, offering both nostalgia and fresh content for longtime fans and new listeners alike
