Roots in Warsaw's Underground
Paulina's musical odyssey began in Warsaw, a city that's rapidly gaining recognition as a premier clubbing destination. As a member of the queer collective and feminist platform Oramics since 2018, she championed inclusivity in the electronic music scene. Co-founding the club night MESTIÇO, she curated events that spotlighted international talents like object blue, TSVI, aya, and LCY, further enriching Warsaw's eclectic soundscape.
Embracing Nostalgia with a Modern Twist
Relocating to London two years ago, Paulina immersed herself in a milieu teeming with diverse musical influences. Her sets are a seamless blend of old-school trance, characterized by euphoric crescendos, and hypnotic techno rhythms. This fusion evokes memories of Warsaw's '90s rave culture and the golden days of Ibiza in the 2000s. Reflecting on this, she notes, "Nostalgia always sticks with you. The '90s and '00s were a golden era... It's also cool to bring a bit of that heritage back as well."
Debut EP: 'Silver Current'
Following the success of her 2024 debut single 'Fluid Matter', Paulina caught the attention of trance luminary KI/KI. This led to her producing 'Silver Current', the sophomore release on KI/KI's label, slash. Drawing inspiration from early 2000s trance pioneers like Tiësto, Paul van Dyk, and Armin van Buuren, the four-track EP melds the essence of vibrant underground club culture with iconic trance anthems. Paulina describes her production approach as crafting "collages of sound," a perspective enriched by her background in visual arts and design.
A Cathartic Mix Experience
To commemorate the release of 'Silver Current', Paulina curated an hour-long mix that traverses the realms of trance, techno, and emotive rave. This set not only showcases her adeptness behind the decks but also encapsulates her journey through sound—a testament to her ability to intertwine the past, present, and future of electronic music.
